Please join us at the south parking lot, Linda Mar Beach, in a memorial paddle out this Sunday, Jan. 29, at 2pm for long time Pacifica resident and Linda Mar surfer Jimmy Doran, who passed away Jan. 4 after a brief illness.

Jim came to Pacifica in 1973 and lived almost his whole life there. He was well known at Linda Mar Beach since he loved to surf. He got a skim board when he was very young and used to ride it along the surf’s edge. Later he learned to surf, and it became the love of his life.

About 20 years ago, he went to Costa Rica with a group of surfers. Costa Rica became his second love. He would travel there almost every November to surf and hang out with friends he had made there.

Jim also liked to play soccer. He played into his early 20s. He played on several teams and made a lot of lifelong friends. In addition to his soccer buddies, he made friends with a lot of wonderful people while surfing. These wonderful friends’ thoughts and sympathy have been a great help to his family.
